Janki Maheshvari

Yoga has been a part of Janki's life since high school, but it was her first Ashtanga class in 2003 which really led her to adopt yoga as an all-encompassing lifestyle. She instantly fell in love with the flow and dynamic yet focused energy of the traditional Ashtanga practice, and soon completed a 1-year intensive Ashtanga yoga teacher training with Breathing Space Yoga Studio in Halifax, Canada. At the same time, she was embarking upon a B.A. in Health Studies, Sociology / Social Anthropology and International Development Studies with a Concentration in Asian Religion. She has been blessed to have received three research scholarships, enabling her to live in India and Nepal for extended periods of time, furthering her knowledge on the yogic approach to mind/body health. In 2007, she completed her 500-hour YTT with Yogi Vishvketu in Rishikesh. She has since been registered as RYT-500 and has continued teaching Vinyasa based yoga at studios and gyms in her native country Germany. There, she wrote her M.A. thesis on authenticity of yoga in the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand. Janki has also enjoyed training as Reiki and Acupressure Massage practitioner. She is passionate about holistic nutrition, environmental ethics and animal rights (ahimsa), and teaching yoga in a light and playful way.

Yogi Pankaj Narayan

The seeds of music were planted in Pankaj's soul early on in childhood. When he was fourteen he took up acting and singing in the annual Indian performance of the Ramayana as well as leading Kiirtan and singing mantra in his village temple. A monk became aware of his extraordinary talent and requested that he should follow the path of bhakti yoga by pursuing a life of seva in surrendering to the Divine through song, and having disciples partake in this experience at ashrams. Thus inspired, he went on to begin his spiritual service in India's capital city with Sudhansu ji Maharaj of Vishva Jagrati Mission Trust, a world-renowned monk alongside whom he traveled all of India's metropolitan cities in the quest of sharing his spiritual song and spreading the love. He continued in this mission by studying and practicing with various great monks in Delhi, Mumbai, Sukratal, Haridwar and Rishikesh, expanding his knowledge of music, yoga, Vedic rituals and Tantra throughout his young adulthood. He has been blessed to have received instruction in singing from Pandit Lakshmi Narayan Sharma and teachings in drumming from Ustad Rehman Sabri. In his concerts and Kiirtan sessions, Pankaj skillfully blends rythm and devotional singing to bring about shifts in the vibrational quality of the energy in his listeners' bodies. In his music, meditation and satsang events, he targets the heart as the guiding principle of a peaceful and content life in harmony with all beings. Drawing from many years of experience in teaching drums, especially dholak and tabla, the harmonium, and vocal in both Indian classical and devotional styles, such as mantra, to Western as well as Indian spiritual seekers, he now offers various classes and workshops at One Love. He is currently researching into the healing properties of sound as it relates to your heart chakra - Naad Yoga.
